Auroville Youth Initiatives
Youthlink aims To provide all necessary resources in order for youth to become an empowered and integral part of the Auroville community, as well as grow and develop into future leaders and thinkers of the world. We provide various programs in order for us to grow and develop into well rounded individuals with the necessary skills and tools in order to create a better tomorrow.
Projects by AV Youth
Motivated Auroville youth are continuously starting various projects within and outside Auroville. Here are some of the projects currently running in Auroville by various youth or youth groups
Youth Center
The Youth Centre, also known as Peaceful City, behind the Town Hall. It is a place where youth of all ages and backgrounds can collectively and constructively come together to relax, work, learn practical life skills and play. We welcome people who want to spontaneously take initiative and build up the community. Whether it is with helping and maintaining, managing the kitchen and cooking for the people working there or with building sustainable community spaces or sharing whatever skills people may have. Most of the projects are self-motivated, there is no ONE person in charge, best is to drop by the Youth Center to know about the current activities. Every Wednesday and Saturday evening there is the YC Pizza Night, which is generally a good time to drop by and see the place
Youth Network
Youth network is a dynamic platform for youth engagement that works towards uniting individuals of varied backgrounds toward a common goal by sharing resources and training with coaches and mentors. Youth Network helps voice youth concerns, address youth needs and assists them by recognising the potential in Youth and supporting their involvement in the development of Auroville.
Youth Network includes a variety of initiatives, such as public events to engage a diverse group of youth and help bridge generations. Community dynamics and building networks through our projects that connect different Auroville activities and units to youth from around the world.
Youth Yucca
The Youth Yucca program targets youth of Auroville turning 18 as well as returning Auroville youth.
The target audience will be people who already have life experience inside of Auroville as a child and are now becoming adults, and we aim to provide an orientation program which takes into account the extensive experiences they have had in Auroville so far.
Currently under incubation phase, YouthLink along with Entry service, Yucca team, and motivated individuals, aim to have the first session in the first half of 2022.
