The aim of this research was to study the current relationship between the work culture of Auroville and the youth of Auroville. This research focuses on extracting the existing trends of youth-work culture of the region. To do this, a mixed methodology is adopted.

The study is conducted in two phases. Quantitative and qualitative research methods are used understand how youth of Auroville is involved in the workforce of the region.

The first phase consists of quantitative data collection through online and offline modes, i.e circulating a google form with the questionnaire, online on social media forums. This phase focuses on gathering data regarding 'work' on our target group (age 18-30) and presenting our findings with little to no interpretation. This is to refrain from making and perpetuating assumptions which are possibly based on biases or the survey team's personal opinions.

The second phase of this research will consist of qualitative data collection whereby in-person interviews are conducted with participants and representatives of the phase 1 participants. Open-ended interviews and Focus Group discussions will be conducted to substantiate the data gathered by the surveys. This will form a cumulative understanding of the relationship between the youth and the work-culture of Auroville.

Additionally, this mixed data acquired out of quantitative and qualitative research will result in well-balanced research where statistical data is combined with detailed transcriptions and analysis of oral interviews to bring out the existing patterns of Aurovilian workforce.

The First phase of this survey was conducted over a two month period, through a google form as well as a physical survey. We gathered responses from 132 participants, of which 116 were Newcomers/Aurovilians. This survey focuses on said 116 participants.
